| Class Description An introduction to structural shapes and sheet metal fabrication. Presents fabrication techniques, metal selection, and layout, cutting, bending, drilling, threading, and joining using manual equipment and techniques. Information is presented to the student and followed up with lab activities to provide a hands-on experience. Emphasizes developing an understanding of the tools, techniques, safe work habits, and application of sheet metal fabrication skills. |
| Important Class Notes This class uses various types of instruction. Blackboard is used for the online portion of instruction. Information about accessing Blackboard can be found at http://mstc.edu/blackboard. Follow the instructions on the website or Blackboard home page to enroll in the Online Orientation and familiarize yourself with how Blackboard works. Please note that courses will not show up in Blackboard until the first day of class. This class is a blend of scheduled class time along with traditional online instruction. Students will attend the class on the scheduled day and time. Students have the option to attend class in-person or using a web conferencing tool. (If the class has a lab, students should plan on attending the lab in-person.) Students should check their Mid-State email prior to the first class for any additional announcements or instructions. |
