Class Description
Students examine the causes of food-borne illness and apply techniques for preparing, storing, and serving hot and cold foods from a ServSafeŽ Certified Instructor/Proctor. Students also examine the role of management and workers related to sanitation regulations and standards. The ServSafeŽ certification test is administered in this course and students will need to hold this valid certificate for graduation and employment in the culinary industry.

Follow the instructions on the website or Blackboard home page to enroll in the Online Orientation and familiarize yourself with how Blackboard works. Please note that courses will not show up in Blackboard until the first day of class. Students will attend the Telepresence class on the scheduled day and time. Students have the option to attend class in-person or using a web conferencing tool. (If the class has a lab students should plan on attending the lab in-person.) Students should check their Mid-State email prior to the first class for any additional announcements or instructions.
