| Class Description Introduces a broad scope of employment laws and provides the opportunity to apply these laws to the employment arena. Includes laws relating to anti-discrimination, including the Civil Rights Act, ADEA, and ADA; wage and hour regulation, including FLSA; employer-provided pensions, including ERISA; health insurance, including COBRA and ACA; and unemployment and worker's compensation insurance. |
| Important Class Notes This class uses various types of instruction. Blackboard is used for the online portion of instruction. Information about accessing Blackboard can be found at http://mstc.edu/blackboard. Follow the instructions on the website or Blackboard home page to enroll in the Online Orientation and familiarize yourself with how Blackboard works. Please note that courses will not show up in Blackboard until the first day of class. Students will attend the Telepresence class on the scheduled day and time. Students have the option to attend class in-person or using a web conferencing tool. (If the class has a lab students should plan on attending the lab in-person.) Students should check their Mid-State email prior to the first class for any additional announcements or instructions. |
